HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE EVERYONE!
Has everyone made their new year's resolutions for 2006??? I haven't as yet... but there are things that I'm looking foward to in the new year:
- working
- getting my P's (finally!)
- celebrating my 21st
- graduating
- enjoying my last year of uni
- finding a teaching job
- joining Flare again
- hanging out with melb uni glenny guys at lunch
- seeing my BECE dears
I know next year will have a lot in stored for me, happy, crazy, fun, exciting, entertaining, unexpected moments. But there will also be the times of stress, pressure and sadness. But hey, life would be boring if it was always good. So I say, bring it on! I'm so ready for the new year.

Went to the beach today with the same ppl as the night before. We had spontaneously decided to go to the beach on our way back from the dinner. Just coz it was gonna be 37 degrees and we hadn't been to the beach in ages. I had work from 12 - 4pm so we couldn't go in the day. But it was perfect timing coz the sun was still blazing hot around 4ish. It only started to cool down a little around 5 but not so much that you had to wear extra clothing. It was gorgeous weather.
We had planned to go to Seaford (wherever that is) but changed our minds and went to Mordiallic beach instead. It was funny though coz on the way there we miss the turning to Modiallic beach and we didn't realise until we were about 5-10mins away from Seaford. But we were meeting Rani and Robby at Modiallic so we stuck to our plan and turned around. The beach wasn't very crowded. Maybe coz it was late already or maybe coz the sand was so grainy. As soon as we hit the beach, the grains of sand really exfoliated our feet... it wasn't soft squeaky sand like I wanted, which also meant I couldn't build my sand features coz the sand wasn't sticking properly. I managed to make one little turtle... though I think the waves got to it and washed it away... :( Can't believe I didn't bring my camera again and neither did anyone else. Grrr... >.<
Anyways, we stayed to watch the sunset... awwwww... romantic yeah? haha. In the end, Rani and Robby didn't join us coz they were building a BBQ (don't ask! :P). So it was just us four, happily sitting on the grainy sand beach, eating fish and chips, while watching the sunset. Just beautiful. Definitely a picture perfect moment (grr, if only i had brought my camera!)
It was starting to get a little chilly so we decided to pack up and leave. I was also feeling quite tired by then. But our day didn't end there. We payed a visit to Rani and Robby, picked them up and went to Mel's place to watch a movie. "Shawshank Redemption". It was an interesting movie. At the start I wasn't too sure whether it was a movie I'd really wanna watch. But towards the end it got better. It had a good twist to it. Can't be bothered to explain what it was about. hehe. The cover of the DVD said that the movie went for 284mins. haha. But somehow we didn't think that was right. It only went for approx 180mins. So I think they made a boo boo on the cover. hehe.
It was about 1am by the time we left Mel's. And I was dead tired. Went straight home and into bed.

I had a lovely dinner outing with Mel, Mikey, Bud, Rani, Rani's sister and husband. Very very friendly couple. But Rani looks nothing like his sister. We went somewhere different for a change and took a drive down to St Kilda to a very 'country club' style restaurant called
Donovans. It was a beautiful place. Too bad I forgot my camera and didn't take any photos of the place. You know when you're at a very classy place when even the toilets look amazing!!! haha. The toilets were all done up like a beachy kinda theme. Was very very nice... and clean! hehe. The food was very expensive but quite nice. But they filled us all up that we didn't have any more room for dessert! And I was looking forward to dessert! hehe. As we were eating, waiters and waitresses topped our glasses up with water every time they saw that it wasnt full. It was so cool. Felt like I was a VIP or something. hehe. Mel ordered a cocktail... something to do with lychee. It was very strong! Well the after taste was. I ordered a cocktail too! :D Called 'Vanilla Ice'. Wasn't too bad. I was suppose to share with Bud but he didn't really drink much (maybe coz he's allergic to it! :P) So in the end I was the one trying to finish it before we left. It took me the whole night that we were there to finish it. haha. Think I got a little tipsy from drinking it so fast at the end. Well I didn't want to waste money!
Got to watch the sunset. Was beautiful. Along the beachside, in a beautiful classy restaurant, with great company. What more could you ask for? Maybe a camera... haha.
After dinner we said our goodbyes to Rani, his sister and husband and went out seperate ways. The four of us decided to hang out a little longer and went to a place on lygon... can't remember the name. Sounds like Nocturnal... but isn't. haha. Lings, you should know, you go there all the time! hehe. Anyways, we had our dessert there. Mel and I shared a big slice of cookies and cream cake. It was very sweet. So sweet and a lot of it that we couldn't finish it. Mikey had a slice of chocolate baileys cheesecake and bud had pancakes. We were definitely full by then and went home.

Last night I went to see:

And I loved it! It was a little short obviously having to fit so much in from the books with so little time but overall it was good. The beavers were so cute... hehe. Though it was funny when the fawn made friends with Lucy and I could hear Mel and Chi whispering to each other how it was paedophilia! lolz. Geez, those girls. lolz. Though I was talking to Rani about it before in the afternoon and he mentioned how it was like LOTR but a kiddie version. And yeah, I guess that was in the back of my mind while I was watching it. Coz it was quite true. The whole scenery part, the magical supernatural beings, the war etc. But I still enjoyed it. So those who loved the book and tv series, you should go see it. Though that's my opinion anyway. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about it... but go see it for yourself, you never know...

Well i've worked everyday - except christmas day of course - since 15th Dec and will be working rite up until the 30th Dec. Good, coz i'm earning money. Bad, coz I'm always so tired and miss out on social outings. My body clock is really stuffed up. I sleep during the day, work at night and then can't sleep after I finish work. So I stay up pretty late, then sleep in in the mornings. And then repeat the whole process. So as most people know, I'm an early bird, always waking up early like 6:30am. Well, as you can tell, that hasn't been the case.
Work is really good. I'm really enjoying it, as I have mentioned before. And I have a feeling that my manager is gonna keep me on as a permenant casual. There have been good signs pointing that way. So everyone cross your fingers for me! hehe I was meant to have a day off on Boxing Day but they were so busy that my manager called me in to work in the evening. Did anyone go to the Boxing Day sales? Im sure a lot of you did. Well I managed to go as well and it was so crazy! There were people everywhere! Especially in Myer. My brothers bought heaps of stuff... t-shirts, polos, pants, shoes... and me? yes, typical me, didn't buy anything. lolz. Though I nearly bought a really nice blue and white dress from... erm.. can't remember the shop name. It was a sweet looking dress, a long one with flowers on it. And I was about to buy it when I saw a tear in the sleeve part. So yes, that put me off it, even though it was only a little tear that probably could have been fixed easily. Oh wellz, I'm not paying good money (though it wasn't that expensive) for something that has a tear in it. So that was as close as I got to to buying anything.
So then I took a trip to my store just to see how things were going. And there were so busy! My manager came up to me and goes "I should have had you working today." And all I could say was "oh really?" I kinda didn't want to work that day because 1) I was shopping 2) it was my day off and 3) i didn't wanna get caught up in the pushing, pulling, poking of the customers. lolz. So anyways, I didn't say much and quickly walked outta the store before she could say anything more to me. hehe. But then around 1ish I got a call from her asking whether I could work in the evening 5-9pm. And being the nice employee I said yes. hehe. It shouldn't be too bad at nite right? People would have had enough shopping for the day. My manager said she thought it would still be as busy at night which is why she was putting me on. But it turned out that not many people realised that the shops were open till 9pm on a Monday. And by 6ish... the center was dead. Like really really dead. We had three people on that evening and it was so dead that we had to send one person home. The other girl who had been working decided to go home coz she had been there longer. So from 7ish till 9pm we didn't have any sales (maybe one, i can't remember) and the rest of the time we just talked. haha. Getting paid time and a half just to talk. That's the way to go. hehe. So yeah, it was quite an uneventful evening on Boxing Day.
But then I worked today in the afternoon and that made up for the night. It was so busy! Like flat out. Its like people had rested their feet and were out again the next day. Crazy shoppers! lolz

Merry Christmas everyone!

Did everyone have a good day? I hope so. I certainly did. Well my day started when my younger brother jumped onto my bed this morning at 7:30am, annoying me to open my present from Santa. So after about 10mins of trying to get him to let me sleep, I decided to give in. After that I couldn't sleep so we both went to annoy my older brother. haha. We forced him to open his Santa present but he didn't budge. Instead we got kicked and slapped until we left him alone. So, failing with that, we went to wake up mum and dad. But this time we brought reinforcement... Magie! haha. She excitedly ran up the stairs (coz usually she's not allowed upstairs) and pushed the door to my parent's room open. My dad was already awake so we got Magie to wake mum up. "Ugh..." we hear coming from mum. That was good enough. It meant she was going to get up. hehe. So back to my older brother's room, this time with Mags, and this time we succeeded. So finally, we had woken up the whole family and got them downstairs to open pressies.
And this was the part that I had been waiting for. hehe. So here are the pressies that I got this Christmas 2005:

- Donnay Hay Christmas Cookbook (from Santa)
- 2006 Daily Planner (KK from work)
- Photo Album (from older bro)
- Smiggles pack (from younger bro)
- Blue top, nail polish, notebook (from parents)
- Blue bag/Cookies (from Mel)
- Magnetic Poetry Kit (from Mikey)
- Soap/Make up remover (from Daz)
- Penguin bag (Rani, Robbie and Mikey)
- Chocolates (from workmates)
Thank you to everyone for all the lovely pressies. I really appreciate them. But I'd have to say, one of my favourite pressies is Mel's blue bag! I have been wanting a bag like that for AGES! And I'm so happy that I got one for Christmas! Thanks Melly!
Oh, I'll have to get the photos of our Christmas lunch/dinner that we had. Mum cooked us a feast (while I slept hehe). I was so full! I couldn't even finish my dessert that I had been looking foward to since yesterday! But it was soooo yummy! My dad got a 5.5kg leg of ham from his work. It was huge! haha. Biggest leg of ham I've seen! hehe. We only ate about 1/6. So I guess for the next few days we're gonna be having ham salad, ham sandwiches, ham in pasta, ham as a side dish, ham as a mainmeal, ham as a snack... haha. I think I'm gonna be sick of ham! >.<
Boxing Day sales tomorrow... that's gonna be fun! Lucky I'm not working. It's gonna be crazy! We've got 40 - 50% off our stock for the next four days. So if you guys want anything, you better get in quick! I might go tomorrow... I wanted a book from Myer called "The Teaching Man" I think. Written by the same author as "Angela's Ashes" and "'Tis". As the name says, its about a guy who becomes a teacher with the struggles and achievements that he endures along the way. Sounds good, so i wanna go get that. Hopefully its on sale! Though it might not be, coz its quite new.
So who wants to go shopping tomorrow?!

I was about to finish the series of Full House only to find out that the last episode doesn't have subtitles!!! OMG! I couldn't believe it! lolz. Al says its suppose to have subtitles though. So it must be my dvd player. But it can't be. Why would every other episode work, all but the last one?! Doesn't make sense. So i'm still waiting to see what happens in the end. haha. Gonna have to get Al to give me another series to watch.
There must have been something about yesterday that attracted the guys into our store. The amount of young guys who came into our store yesterday was unbelievable. Must be typical guys leaving their shopping to the last minute. hehe. But they must all have super good paying jobs that allow them to spend so much. hehe. And a few of them aren't bad looking! haha.
Anyways, I met this one guy yesterday. Probably around 24, 25. He was super super nice! He was buying a present for his parents that were going overseas to Italy. He wanted to find something that might be related to Italy but we didn't really have anything to accomodate that. I showed him some wine bottles coz he said his parents drink wine often. So anyways, in the midst of deciding what he was going to buy, he was telling me about how he was heading off to the UK to work. He had just completed his masters of being a physio and a job opportunity came up in the UK. He had been working at some hospital (can't remember the name) and was now wanting to go into sports therapy. The funny thing is, I found out all this stuff about him and I didn't even ask for his name!! lolz. He couldn't decide what he wanted to get for his parents so he said he'd come back after he's made a few phonecalls. But he was so nice that I really hoped he'd come back and not use that as an excuse to leave and not buy anything. hehe. But I was in luck. He came back after 10mins and he said he did make a few phonecalls and decided to get the wine bottles. Wow, a super nice AND honest guy! hehe
Anyways, as I was putting the sale through and wrapping up his gift, and he was so polite and started asking about me, about work and if it had been busy, if I was studying etc. I like people who do that. People who are interested in your life as well as telling you about theirs. So yeah, we had this whole conversation until it was time to hand over his gift and let him be on his way. I was so sad. lolz. I hope he comes back again sometime soon! :D
My manager was telling me about how she met her husband. He was actually working in a store nearby and she was a customer. She had been inside the shop a few times and on this one particular day, he handed her their shop card and wrote his number on the back. Ask her to have a coffee with him and since then, they've been together ever since! How sweet huh?! Awwww...
Well yesterday got me excited about Christmas day. Mainly coz I can't wait to open all my pressies! haha. At work we're having a Kris Kringle thing, then the Glenny girls also had one. Thanks Mel for my pressie. Haven't opened it yet tho. hehe. How ironic. Mel got me as her KK and I got her as mine. haha. One more thing to add to the rumours. lolz. Then I met up with Mikey yesterday who gave me his present and Rani/Robbie's pressie. Thanks guys! Mikey got me all anxious about what they got me. He had this big grin on his face, so I'm not sure whether I want to open it or not! lolz. We had a Chrsitmas party the other night and my aunty gave us presents as well. So yeah, I wanna see what I got from everyone! haha.
Yesterday we also went to see the houses that were lit up with all these christmas lights. OMG! The one in Vermont South is absolutely stunning! It was just amazing all the work that they had put in. The whole house was lit up with flashing lights, santas, nativity sets, bubble blowers etc. They even had one of those machines were it makes fake snow! haha. How cool huh? Then we saw this sign that asked for donations: 70% goes to the Starlight Foundation, 30% goes to the electricity bill! hahaha. I thought that was funny. But I don't blame them, the amount of lights that they have going, it must be costing them a fortune to have them on everynite! It was funny coz my brother brought his camera along to take pictures of the house. He made sure he packed everything so he could get some really nice shots. So we arrived at the house, and he went to take his camera out... only to find that he had forgotten the CF card to store the photos on! hahahaha. It was funny.
Working till midnight tonite. That should be fun! :D

Al's got me hooked onto this Korean drama series called "Full House". Has anyone heard of it? Well, if you haven't I recommend you go download/borrow/buy/hunt it down coz it is soooo addictive! It's one of the best asian dramas I've seen. It probably beats Meteor Gardens only because it has English subtitles. haha. But yeah, for those of you who like romantic comedies, go and see Full House. Its so good!
Anyways, while watching it on Sunday night, I was suddenly interrupted by my brother yelling "Dad! The walls are leaking!" So I stopped what I was watching and quickly ran to see what all the commotion was about. And it was true. The walls were leaking. Water was streaming down the kitchen stove wall. It was so weird. We thought it might be leaking coz mum was having a shower. So my brother ran upstairs to tell my mum to stop having a shower. But surprisingly he found her in bed. That was weird. So when he opened up the bathroom door, there was water about 3cm deep all over the floor and water gushing out from underneath the sink. Yep, that's right, one of the pipes had burst. And that's when everyone ran to the linen cupboard to grab all the towels we had to soak up the water and stop it from going into the carpet. It was actually quite exciting! haha. It was like a mini flood. Well it was a mini flood. Grabbing as many towels as we could, dad went outside to shut off the water.
It took us a couple of hours to clean up the mess. But we eventually got it all cleaned up. I don't know how many towels we squeezed that nite, but by the time we had soaked up all the water, our fingers were so sore. It was a good workout for my arms! lolz. After finishing up everything, there was nothing more we could do but to wait for the plumber to come and fix it for us. Luckily we had all had a shower, well except for my brother. haha. So he had to boil water and use the buckets of water we had saved.
The guy came the next day and fixed it just like that. So that was a relief. But it wasn't over yet. Today, we woke up to find water dripping from the ceiling. I think we weren't fast enough with soaking up all the water from upstairs that some must have gotten into the floor, under the carpet and was now soaking through the ceiling. Apparently, while I was at work, my dad punctured a hole through the wet part and about half a litre of water came out! Hopefully my dad just has to fill the hole back up!
So went to work tonite and yesterday nite. Last nite was really quiet. Very unexpected as it is the last week before christmas. Tonite was a little better. Not busy, but consistent. And we went $2000+ over our budget for today! Woohoo! We all get so excited when we do that. haha. One of our daily highlights! hehe.
Went shopping for shoes, yet again. And found nothing still. Haiz, I give up. I'm sick of shoe shopping! >.< I need clothes now. haha. So, who wants to go clothes shopping with me?! :D

Well yesterday was a long and tiring day. I had work from 9-5pm. And it was flat out! It was so busy that it didn't even feel like I had worked for 8 hours. It was crazy. But the good thing was, I was determined to make $10,000 in sales yesterday and we did! Woohoo! We made more coz we didn't close until 7pm but I left at 5pm. So I'm anxious to know what their official total was for yesterday.
The bad thing was that my feet were killing me! :( Darn those shoes! lolz.
So straight after I got home from work, I rested my feet a little before getting ready to go to Cam's 21st dinner. Cam and Sara picked me up around 6:30ish coz they also had to go get the cake and party hats(?!). Because I was so tired from work and plus I wasn't feeling too well, I wasn't in the mood to play Darkzone that night. Though I had made a deal with Cam on Thursday when I got him and Sara to come shopping with me. The deal was that if they came shopping, I had to play Darkzone. Ok, so fair enough, I agreed. But I didn't realise how tired I would be after work so I tried to get out of it by wearing highheels. hehe. Coz they had said that if we were gonna be playing darkzone that we should wear flat shoes. But I also wanted to wear high heels coz of the pants I was wearing. Anyways, my plan failed as Cam refused to start the car until I had changed my shoes. haha. So yes, seeing as he was driving us, I had no other choice but to change. But I'm glad I did. Coz I had so much fun. But I wouldn't want to do it again. I didn't have THAT much fun! hehe. It was so tiring! Especially coz my feet were already sore from work.
So anyways, I didn't really know what to expect. I had only ever heard of Darkzone and only knew was that you wore these packs and had a laser gun to shoot others with. Oh and that it was also in the dark. So I was kinda scared. I don't take things well in the dark. haha. And people running around shooting me was not exactly a calm free environment. But I was kinda excited at the same time coz I was always curious as to what it was all about. So there were about 18 of us playing plus a few other outside people who joined in our game. They were such pros at it. AND they were on the gurls team! haha. There were three teams. Yellow, Blue and Red. And yes, of course, I chose blue. haha. So before we went in and got our packs, we were debriefed on how the game worked. He asked everyone who had played it before and it was so funny coz most of the guys who were there put their hand up and all the girls had they're hands down. haha. Great, I thought. We were surely gonna lose. hehe.
The packs were quite heavy. It was like I had put on one of those weight jackets you wear when you wanna lost weight. haha. So anyways, the siren went off to start the game and off we went into the dark dark arena where team mates, enemies and hiding places awaited. The first few minutes I didn't really know what I was doing. There were so many walls, ramps and platforms to run in, out, up and down. I just hoped that I didn't get lost! The I had to try and figure out how to use my gun. I didn't realise that there was actually a red laser that you could see when you shoot at the other team. I just thought you had to point and shoot using your eye. And coz my aiming isn't that good, I wasn't doing too well. But then I tried shooting at a wall and suddenly saw a red dot! haha. Ohhhh... so that's how people were aiming so well at me. hehe. Everytime I shot, there would be this gun noise. I didn't realise until a little while after that it was the noise of my gun. I thought it was me getting shot. haha. So everytime I had that noise, I waited for 10 secs because that's how long your gun was immobilised for when you got shot by another team. So thinking that I couldn't shoot anyone, everyone else got a free shot at me! :( lolz.
So this game went on for an hour. And it was definitely a good workout. Running around chasing or running away from people was tiring. I was sweating so much! And so were a lot of other people apparently. 50mins had gone past (though it didn't feel like that much) and Chi and I needed a drink. I was seriously dehydrated. My mouth was so dry and I felt dizzy. So we went out to get a drink and just talked for the last 10mins of the game. We checked the score on the screen outside and blue was winning anyways. So that was alrite. hehe. Those other guys who were pros could cover us. I don't think we were adding much to our score anyways.
So the siren went off again to finish the game and slowly everyone came out. Blue had one, thanks to the pros, then Red, then Yellow. haha. Yellow was the guys team with Cam, Nick, Carlo etc. hehe. Poor Cam. hehe. So anyways, I don't know whether it was the packs or just us, but while we were all standing outside in the foyer checking out scores, it stank! haha. Like really badly. I think it was a mixture of everyone's sweat from themselves and the packs. haha. So we all quikcly ran outside to get some fresh air. haha. By the time we finished, it was already midnite. And I was definitely ready to go home. Cam kindly sent me home.
Thanks Cam! Hope you enjoyed yourself last nite. Overall it was a really good nite. Like I said, I'm glad I went to darkzone. It was fun. The only downside to it was that after I was even more tired, had a headache and my feet were so so sore!! They still are! Luckily I didn't have to work today! :P
And can you believe it... I was so tired that I didn't even take any photos!! *shock* *horror* hahaha. But its ok, Sara took my place. Will get some photos off her soon.

How do you spend a whole day shopping... 9 hours to be precise... and within those 9 hours you go to 2 shopping centers, Chaddy and Southland, the two biggest shopping centers in Melbourne, go to every shoe shop you see... and end up getting nothing? Well, its only something that I could pull off. And yes, that is what happened to me yesterday. I shopped the whole day, dragging poor Al around with me looking for the one pair of shoes I really need... just to end up with buying nothing. *sigh... I dunno what I'm gonna do now. No comfy shoes to wear. I'm gonna have to come home and massage my feet everynite next week. Lolz.
So after a whole day of shopping and becoming really really frustrated by the end of the day - end of the day meant at 10pm - I was tired. Like really really tired. So tired that I closed the door on Allan when he was still in the back seat of Mikey's car. haha. I forgot that it was a 2-door car and expected Allan to get out of his own door, which is why I slammed mine shut when I got out. Then I turned around only to realise that Al was still in the car, struggling to get out of the back! haha... oopz! This happened when we arrived at Chaddy to pick Mel up from work. Mikey, Al and I were all so hungry that we wanted to go for supper. So we thought we would ask Mel along too. But in the end, we were all too tired to go out and eat so we just decided to go home. I was so hungry by that stage but also so tired that I forgot to eat and went straight to bed. But before I went to bed, the computer downstairs wasn't turned off... so I quickly shut the computer down and turned ON the side light and went upstairs. Yes, I turned it on thinking I turned it off! haha. It wasn't until the next morning when my brother told me I had left the light on all night! >.< oopz! That's how I knew I must have been super uber tired! lolz
Its gonna be a tiring week starting from tomorrow. Tomorrow I work from 9-5pm. Then after I need to do Christmas shopping - yes I could have done it yesteday in the 9 hours but I was mainly concentrating on my shoes. Hopefully my shopping won't take me more than 2 hours becuase after that I have to rush home, get changed and head straight to Cam's birthday dinner. Not sure if I'll be going to darkzone after that... depends on how tired and sore I will be. Then sunday, carols by candlelight at Jells Park. Monday to Saturday I'll be working everynite till at least 9 or 10pm. And its definitely gonna be busy at work no doubt! So that leaves the day to socialize. Tuesday its lunch with the gurls and maybe a sleepover. Wednesday its visiting Flare people in the city. Thursday is a driving lesson at 8am! Friday and Saturday are free so far but I'm sure there will be Christmas parties to go to. And then Sunday is Christmas day! phew! I feel tired already just writing about it! lolz.
So to those who I wont see before Christmas, I hope you all have a wonderful time spending time with your friends and families and opening all the goodies that you have under the tree! :D Hopefully catch up with you after Christmas!
Btw, is anyone throwing a new year's party??

Well Ben got me thinking about Christmas and how close it is. There's only one more week and a bit! Gosh, I really don't know where this whole year has gone. I don't really feel like I've done anything significant this year. When I think back, I can't recall anything that I feel I have accomplished. Last year there were a lot of things that I was proud of and a lot of special memories that I took away with me from that year. I guess this year, the most significant memory for me was when my daddy come home for good. Oh and joining Flare... that was definitely a significant memory too. Taking up dancing again made me really happy this year. It kept me going through a lot of things that weren't so good. Hrmm... what else... oh, spending more time with the glenny guys at uni and going away to the Grampians. Going to everyone's 21st and meeting up with people from highschool that I haven't seen in ages. Getting to know people that I never really spoke to before. Having a fantastic Primary school placement in first semester. That was an amazing experience which inspired me to do Primary teaching when I graduate. Ok, so maybe there are a lot of things that have happened this year. hehe. I just haven't really sat down and thought about it until now. Another thing that's happened just recently is getting a job and meeting the wonderful staff there.
But there were still a few things I was suppose to do this year that I didn't achieve. The few things on my list for this year were:
- get a job at the start of the year
- get my P's (that's been on my list for the past 3 years! haha but i seriously wanted to achieve that... i guess it'll have to wait till next year)
- do really well on assignments and exams (some were good, some were not so good)
- get a new hairstyle (wanting to change my hairstyle... but was afraid it might not turn out the way i want it to)
- cook more dinners for the family (didn't organise my time properly enough for this to happen)
Its not a long list... but I really wanted to do all of the above this year. You could say it was my 2005 year resolutions. Oh wellz... there's always next year! hehe
Ok, so what do I have planned before the new year arrives? Well, I'll be working a lot. Working everynite next week which is why I need comfortable shoes. I've been looking for shoes all year... haha... that's how picky I am. But the thing is, everytime I find a pair that I really really like... they either don't have my size, don't have the colour I want or they're sold out! Great. Just great huh? So i thought I would try my luck again yesterday (coz I havent been shopping in a while) and yes, it happened to me again. I found the shoes I wanted AND they were quite cheap but no, they didn't have my size. grrrrrr... so frustrating! See, so its not my fault that I dont buy anything when we shop! Well, I'm attempting to go shoe shopping again today. At Chaddy this time. I haven't been to chaddy in AGES! Can't even remember the last time I went. Bet its gonna be really really crowded... like it always is... and especially now coz its the christmas season.
Did you know that Coles have new bags? They're those really tough plastic bags that are really good for heavy things. And on the front of the bag it says "I'm made to last so please reuse me next time you shop at Coles or Bilo". haha. If only everything else was 'made to last'! haha...

Worked today and yesterday and my feet are killing me! I haven't had to stand for such a long time in ages! And even at my other job I had seats to sit on. Here I'm on my feet for 4... 5... hours. It's crazy. And its even worse when you have to run around getting products for people. It was so busy today. Yesterday wasn't so bad. It was very quiet yesterday which is why time passed so slowly. But today, I worked for 5.5hours and it was busy for most of the time. It got so busy at one stage that I had to serve two customers at once! I was so stressed! lolz. They were both asking me questions at the one time and I got so confused as to who wanted what item. But the good news is that we made our budget today. We have a daily budget that we try to achieve and apparently if we achieve the monthly budget (that is we have to achieve the daily budget everyday for that to happen) then we get commision as a team. So each member gets a little bit extra in their salary for that week. hehe. Its not much, but at least its something.
Anyways, today we closed at 5:30pm. And at 5:15pm our daily total was 3,957.. $133 short of our daily budget. So that's like one sale. I was so determined to make that one sale before we closed and I told my manager that we weren't allowed to go home until we achieved our daily budget. She just laughed at me and told me that I could stay behind to close up then. hehe. She said that the center looked pretty quiet at that time and that we probably wouldn't get another customer. And just as she said that a couple walked in. Determined to make that one sale, I approached them and used my new found selling skills to achieve my goal. And alas! I did! hehe... we sold a hedgehog that was worth $150. So yay! we went over our budget! woohoo! I was so happy... and my manager was very impressed! :D
So today was a very good day. I really enjoying this job. Its a lot of fun.

These 21st parties are never ending. I have partied weekend after weekend after weekend. I think finally there will be a break between now and probably late January where there are no more 21st. Not only are these 21st taking a toll on my energy and sleep but also my bank account! lolz I'm so glad I have an income at the moment otherwise it would be very painful to see money I don't even have disappear so fast.
So this weekend consisted of Bum and Al's 21st. So I'll start with Bum's (aka Mel).
09/12/05: Mel's 21st partyShe held it at her house and there were about 60-70 people there. Her house was decorated with pink and silver balloons which looked awesome! Im gonna do that for mine but mine will be blue and silver, of course! hehe. Some of the gurls and I have made the tradition of when we each have our 21st we have to wear a tiara. I'll post up photos later but yeah, Mel looked so cute. It was one of those kid's tiaras with the fluffy pink bit on it. hehe. And she was a good sport, wearing it for the whole nite. So anyways, her mum had prepared all this yummy food for us... and her brother Jason was the bartender - some bartender, it took him 10mins just to get me a glass of water! haha. Overall, the nite was fantastic.
The speeches were great! I had to do one for her and I was hyperventilating beforehand but in the end, all was good. I got up there and did my best and a few people afterwards said I did a good job. So I was please about that. I was scared that I wouldn't be able to deliever the speech properly so that it was actually entertaining for everyone. But there was laughter, which is always a good sign, unless there were laughing AT me... not WITh me! :( The only thing I would have change was that I didn't have to go first out of me, rani, bud and mikey. They totally ruined the point of my speech! My speech was about the relationship that I have with Melanie and how it only extends to being really good friends. There have been rumours (only jokingly) that we are 'more than friends'. haha. So I cleared that point up and made sure everyone that nite knew the truth. And after I had made my speech, I thought I did a good job of that. But then came along rani, bud and mikey who totally ignore the point of my speech and told the exact opposite! So in the end, my speech was pointless coz it got destroyed by the guys. lolz. anyways, you had to be there to actually know what I'm talking about. hehe.
After speeches, we sang happy birthday and cut the cake. The cake was beautiful! It was made by one of her family friend. There were some comments made saying it looked like a wedding cake! haha... but only one layer. Not quite sure what falvour it was. It was a citrus taste tho... like lemon or orange. For her present, I made a collage of all the photos we have taken in the past year and a bit. That took more time and effort than I anticipated. I had to get different photos and make sure that they were placed in the right positions. But in the end, it looked quite good, except the fact that I didnt get the right measurements so it didn't fit in the frame properly. Oh wellz, next time I'll get it rite.
Hope you had a great nite Mel. And I hope you liked my pressie. I won't wish you happy birthday yet. You'll have to wait for your actual birthday! :) *hugglez*

Well, its back to work tomorrow. And I have to say, I look foward to working more often coz I'm really enjoying it. I'm getting used to all the products and where everything goes in the store. My manager is really friendly and the other staff members are so much fun to work with. It a really good working environment. I think you're lucky when you find a job that you enjoy going to all the time.
Well, I'm off to recharge my body. Getting sick from lack of sleep :(

Had a productive and busy day yesterday. Got up in the morning to make a strawberry flan for the Flare potluck dinner. I had so much trouble deciding what to make beforehand. I wanted to make christmas cookies, coz after all it was a christmas party. But then I didn't have time to go buy the ingredients. Then mum offered to go get the ingredients but by the time she got back I didn't have time to make them! lolz. So then I had to think of something else to make. By now it was 11ish and I was starting work at 1pm. So i didn't have much time. So I was going to make jelly slice with green and red jelly... but I didn't have the ingredients for that. Well I didn't have time to decide anymore but I still needed something quick and simple to make. But I had to let mum decide that while I headed off to work.
It was so busy... which made me really stressed! lolz I had to do 2 laybys which was really stressful because I'm only new and I'm still learning how to put things on layby properly. So after my workmate helped me out the first time, I thought I would able to do the second one by myself. Well, I think I overestimated my new found talent as I nearly deleted another file in the system! lolz... oopz! Luckily the lady that I was serving was super uber nice and she waited every so patiently for me to fix her layby up. So anyways, I eventually got it donem with some help. hehe. So anyways, after that things started to go downhill... well only slightly. For another customer, I forgot to charge her for a mirror that they use as a display stand for the product... so she got that free. haha. But it wasn't a big deal, my workmate said, coz they usually give them for free to the SCC members anyways. Then I did another boo boo with another customer. When people purchase a product, we have a gaurantee section that we have to fill out. This allows them to bring back the product to exchange it or get it sent for repairs if its damaged without a receipt. Well, i was in such a rush coz we were really busy, and I forgot to fill out the section for her. So i'm just hoping that she doesn't want to exchange it or repair it without her receipt! lolz
On a better note, I made a lot of sales. Plus I had to unpack boxes of new stock coming in which allowed me to learn where everything went. It was good. I learnt a lot yesterday.
So straight after work I rushed home to see what mum had chosen for me to make. And the only quick and simple dessert she could come up with was the strawberry flan. Well, that was good enough. So I quickly made it before Yao picked me up at 6ish. We had a little trouble finding Cindy's place. haha... no thanks to me. I thought it was on the cnr of russel and latrobe... but it was on the crn of russel and victoria street. haha. oopz! well it wasn't that far from each other.
We thought we didn't have enough food for everyone becoz they made it one dish between two. But a lot of people made desserts..haha. We ordered two pizzas as well but in the end we actually had enough to eat. So the nite consisted of lotsa food, drinks, movies, presents and games. We each had to bring a present as part of our small KK exchange. Was quite fun. While we ate, we watched a movie about drummers in a band (not sure what it was called tho) and then a snippet of Honey - it was bud's kk present. Then we played Derrick's fav game, Mafia (or some people call it Angel's and Assasins). It got so intense to the point where we started a game and on the first round we spent like 15mins deciding who the suspects were. haha. Derrick, Kelv and Vinh were very good at confusing each other which took up most of the time of trying to decide who to vote for. It was a lot of fun tho.
I'm so glad that I actually got to go to one of these Flare gatherings. I always miss out coz of transport. Coz they always have it late at nite so its very hard for me to get a ride home. But luckily Yao was kind enough to offer me ride home. So thanks to Yao. It is much appreciated.

Well, another 21st gone by. Went to Surath's 21st on Saturday night. Was interesting. He actually had a buffet there for us to eat. Was very nice. Had rice, curry, bread, baked potatoes, different salads... all very yummy! The only downside to it was that we only got to eat at like 9ish!!! lolz...
He had written on the invite that the party would start at 7pm... so I just assumed that we would also get to eat at 7pm. But obviously that wasn't the case. Anyways, I got ready by 6:30 because I thought my brother would be taking me there. But just as I was about to leave the house, the phone rang. It was Rani and he had kindly offered me a lift there. He was also picking up Bum so to make things easier for him I decided to go to Bum's place first and he could 'kill two birds with one stone'. However, he would not be picking us up until 7:30ish and my tummy was grumbling. It's ok, I thought to myself, there will be dinner there waiting for me and I can stuff my face then. So off to Bum's house I went (but not before I realised that Gilmore Girls was on tv AND it was a 2-hour episode!!! I love that show... been waiting for it to come back. Lucky my brothers taped it for me *grins*)
Got to Bum's house and her dad offered me dinner... but I resisted the temptation reminding myself that the food would be waiting for me when I get there. Didn't wanna eat and fill myself up! Eventually Rani came and we arrived at the Mt. Waverley Youth Center. OMG! But the funniest thing happened! Rani was so proud of himself because he had found a carpark that was really close to the place so we didn't have to walk that far. So Rani, Mel and I went into the center. As we were walking in, a guy on the phone was standing just outside the entrance and we over heard him saying ".... blah blah blah... wedding anniversary...". Now I didn't take much notice of it and it seemed neither did the others. So we kept walking in. It wasn't until we didn't see anyone we knew in there and that the guest were much older than us. We also got a few blank looks. Somehow we realised that this wasn't the place. When we walked back outside, there was a balloon hanging on the wall which said "Happy 50th Anniversary"!!! hahahahaha... The place we had gone into was the Mt Waverley Community Center... not Youth Center! hahaha... So Rani wasn't that lucky after all coz the place was further down the street. haha... it was so funny.
So by now, I was dying of hunger. It was 2 hours past my dinner time and my tummy was making funny noises. But we were nearly there... only a few more steps and I'll be able to eat till my heart's content! Got in there... nothing. There was no food on the tables... the closest thing were little tit bits that were nearly finished by all the other guys that were there earlier! Great.
So I had to wait another hour till the food finally arrived. Lolz... not that I was there JUST for the food.. hehe.. I was there to celebrate Surath's 21st! haha... But like Mel mentioned, his birthday was like in reverse to what people would normally do. People arrived, then they had speeches, sang happy birthday (and 'for he's a jolly good fellow') and cut the cake. Then ate dinner and had dancing after that. He also set up a little bar... it was so cute.
Overall, it was a interesting nite. Definitely not the way I expected it to be. :) Oh and no photos for this birthday... my camera ran out of battery! :( well i did manage to get one...

I was watching tv last nite... just flicking through channels and I came across the national nine news. I saw an image that really touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. I had totally forgotten that yesterday was the hanging of Nguyen Tuong Van in Singapore. If only he could have seen the amount of support he had here in Melbourne. It was amazing. People who didn't know him were lighting candles, attending the ceremony held here in Melbourne, protesting about how wrong it was to hang him... no doubt he would have been touched. Apparently his death was a good and peaceful one, according to his lawyer. Like many, I don't know the guy... but I hope he rests in peace. Can't imagine what his family must be going through.

Due to so many people asking me what happened to my old blog, I've decided to put a new one up. Many of my friends are overseas at the moment, so at least this will give them an idea of what I've been up to. I took my other blog down because I didn't have the time to maintain it properly. But now that its holidays, I should have plently of time to update! hehe...
So, let's see... what have a done since exams finished. Well, I finished quite late (stoopid Melbourne Uni) so i didn't start my holidays until the 25th Nov. But since then there have been a lot of 21st. Its been so crazy. Last weekend alone I had eight 21st that I was invited to and obviously I couldn't go to all of them. So sorry to those people that I missed out on. Im sure you all had a fantastic time anyways.
Here are some of the 21st that I did manage to get around to:
Matt

Jess

Tina & Charlene

Brenda

Vanessa

Mikey

And don't worry. There are plenty more to come! lolz... This year and next year I'm gonna be so broke. Lucky I got a job for the Christmas period. Hopefully I'll be able to stay on as a casual for next year. *cross fingers* Had my first official shift last nite. It was good and bad. You always get those customers who are so lovely and so understanding that it's your first shift so you may not know everything that they ask. But then you also get those customers who think you should know everything and if you tell them that you have to go ask someone else to find the answer, they look at you like you've done something horribly wrong. It was my first day! Geez... but I guess you'll always get those customers. Just gotta deal with them.
