Don't ask me questions knowing that you're not really interested in the answer. It just wastes precious time that could be used to talk to people who actually care.

My concert was a HUGE success! And I couldn't be prouder of my kids... they did a fantastic job! It was definitely better than I expected. Everything ran smoothly, well as smoothly as possible, and I got wonderful comments from the families that came to watch. It was a real confidence boost. Though I can't take all the credit... I had heaps of help from my concert committee and the other teachers.

One thing I love about my job is that I get to know all the children in the school. I know their names, their personalities, they're group of friends... and I love the fact that they all know me too. It comes in handy when I need to organise things or when teachers talk about certain children or when I need to know who to vote for for school captain next year.

We had our grade 5's running for the 2008 school captains. All the teachers had to vote for which 5 girls and 5 boys were going to be the finalists. And this is where my knowledge of who's who comes in handy. Most teachers who haven't had the grade 5's in previous years wouldn't have a clue of who to choose. Most of them just randomly picked the names. But for me, I was able to pick children who I thought would deserve the role of school captain. And all 10 that I picked were actually in the finals! :) They gave their speeches on why they should be chosen yesterday. All of them were very nervous but presented their speeches as best they could. The rest of the school, meaning the students, get to vote next Monday for who they want to be their school captain.

Now that I've relaxed a bit after the school concert... its time for report writing. I have to write approximately 400 comments... luckily for some of them I can cut and paste! :) But still, it takes a lot of time and effort... especially with this confusing report writing program that I have to use.
