tonight was crossed between memory lane and new beginnings.

meeting up with my BECE girls is always a treat. it may be a month... 6 months... a year or even two years before we organise our next catch up. but it doesnt matter because when we do meet up, it's like a day hasn't passed since we last spoke. tonight you could tell how excited we were to see each other as it took us 30 mins before we actually looked at the menu... we kept jumping from one topic to another without realising because we had so much to say... we discussed current issues not realising how grown up we sound... and, as always, we were all so passionate to discuss our experiences on teaching: past, present and future.

someone told me that if you want to become a better person... then you need to be around people who already are. surround yourself with people who have the traits you want to possess. be with the people who have personalities that you want to eventually rub off onto you.

tonight i did that with my girls. a truly amazing group of girls that i am so lucky to have as friends. they make me happy. they remind me of moments like these that we should appreciate and remember rather than the petty things that sometimes stand in our way of our happiness. we discussed how things change... and how inevitably people change. some for the better. some not so much. but as you get older, i believe change and time helps us decide who our true friends are... those who will be with you forever and those who were just passing by.
