On Friday night I had my brother's debutante ball. It was an awesome night! It brought back so many memories! I can't believe it was 5 years ago that I did the exact same thing. 5 years ago! Man, I feel so old! lolz. All these 16 year olds running around... getting drunk... dancing the night away.
The girls looked amazing in their dresses... the boys were all well groomed and looked stunning as well. I had so much fun getting to know all my brother's friends. I was so lonely. I didn't know anyone there except my mum and dad. Oh! Though I did bump into David and Grace! It was so funny seeing them there. I had no idea that Grace's sister was in Glen Waverly as well! And in year 11... AND doing the deb! haha. So that was a good surprise.
So anyways... I had to make friends with people 5 years younger than me! haha. But they were all so friendly and accepted me like I was one of them... hehe. I got everyone to dance and take lots of photos. I know that at such occasions, photos are a definite must... so I made sure I was my brother's personal photographer that night. Everywhere he went, I would follow with the camera and me going "smile for the camera! *click* *flash* hehe... I think they got sick of me towards the end. haha. Oh wellz, they'll thank me later. haha. Apparently I'm now known as David's 'cool' sister! haha... YAY for me! hehe...
So here are some of the memories from the nite:

David's beautiful deb partner, Amanda

My new 16 year old friends

Grace's amazing dress that she made herself!

Her sister's deb dress that she made as well!
So nice! can't really see but it has flowers down the back.

David making his thank you speech

Dancing!

OMG! I love my grade 1's!
I went to visit my school today... the one that I'll be teaching in for the next 4 weeks. And I'm already attached to my kids. They were gorgeous. And the teacher was so friendly and helpful. She's young, which kinda helps coz she's still got that fun and easy going attitude. I was so stressed that I was gonna get stuck with a class that I didn't like... or a teacher that was really strict and old >.< But I got the total opposite! I'm so happy. I'm so looking foward to teaching for the next 4 weeks. I can't wait! YAY!

Went to Amber Lounge for the first time. It was an... interesting experience. lolz. My Flare dance group was performing and I went to support them. It was good to see so many other Flare dances there too. The performance was awesome! Well done to
JO ( so proud of you dear!), Ness, Cindy, Ning, Shar, Mandy, Derrick, Vinh(for the second performance hehe) and last but not least... Kelbie! hehe. You all looked amazing and rocked Amber with your cool dance moves! YAY!
After the first performance, all the Flare people were gathered in this one little circle and suddenly someone suggested that they have a girl vs guy battle. haha. So each group brought out any and every dance move they could use.. it was so entertaining. The girls would try and think of an old routine from a production but then after like a few steps they would forget it. haha. so funny.
Vinh was suppose to be my protector that night... what a shoddy job he did! =P
We got to go to the VIP area... YAY! hehe... we were VIP's! hehe. Got free champange... though it wasn't any use to jo and i... so we just held a glass so we looked cool... haha. We even got Amber money! haha. It was just like monopoly money but instead it said Amber on it. haha... so cool! Jo and I didn't use it... instead we took ours home. hehe. The guy, Tim, who was in charge of us was so nice. He gave us like a whole box of bottled water. Well it was meant to be for the dancers.. haha... but seeing as I don't drink I took the water instead. hehe.

*everything happens for a reason*... my motto in life that gets me through a lot of things that I can't understand why they happen. Eventually you find out what that reason is... but sometimes it can take a month, 6 months or even a year. Right now there are things happening in my life that I have yet to find out what that reason is. Things that have happened which I am now thinking it has happened for the worse and not for the better. Everyday I search for the good behind it all... but never seem to look in the right direction. Instead I find excuses to justify myself and those involved to make myself happy. But it doesn't last very long and then the whole cycle starts again.
To understand things from other peoples point of view is sometimes hard to do. To know how they think, what they think and why they think that is something you can only assume unless they tell you. So all you can really do is hope that you assume correctly. But what if you don't? What if what you think is wrong but yet you have already based your actions and their actions upon it? That's when you get yourself into trouble. Because you have assumed wrongly, your actions are questioned by those around you and are deemed as 'unusual' or 'weird' or 'not yourself'. Which technically is true because you are acting different to accomodate for those you have assumed wrongly.
If the above doesn't make any sense, don't worry, its only suppose to make sense to me :) Basically these things have happened for a reason but I just don't know what that reason is right now. And its frustrating when I can't seem to find what it is. I think and ponder and analyse and think 'what if's'... but it doesn't get me anywhere. I go round and round in circles till I end up where I began. I just hope that what I have assumed is correct and that what I'm doing about it will lead me to the reason for why it happened. After all, patience is a virtue. :)

work. busy. tired. stressed.
Four words that sum up the past few weeks and the weeks to come. I've been through this phase before so its nothing new. But it seems that every time it occurs, it doesn't get any easier. In fact it gets worse. Trying to balance my workload at uni is tough enough. I guess I have only myself to blame prolly coz I socialize too much. hehe. I need to prioritise my time for the next two weeks and tell myself that if I miss a few social outings then its no big deal. At least I can get the important things on my agenda under control.
I need a laptop. One that I can take with me to uni so I can do my work there or better yet, leave it at a friends place (most prolly Jo's seeing as I live there already! =P). Its hard not having all your information you need to do your assignment. Yes, I could bring a USB to uni and then use that on a computer... but its just not the same. lolz. And sometimes I can't fit all my documents onto the one USB. So in the end its just annoying.
I worked today and met a customer that had a very interesting but sad story to tell. She wanted to renew her membership because she had just come out of a 3 year coma!!! I was like woah... that's a long time! Apparently she was involved in a hit and run accident. So sad rite?! I felt like just giving her something for free... lolz... of course I couldn't though. But she was like super super friendly. I like how older ladies like that are just so nice. They are so polite and understanding. The way they talk is so sweet. They have so many stories to tell you about their life. haha. I love listening to how their grand children are in school, how they just went to buy new glasses, what they love to cook etc. Such random stuff but they tell it like it really matters. Its so cute. hehe.
Anyways, I need to rest. Long weekend of assignments, assignments and more assignments. To those in the same situation, jia you! =D

When is it necessary to justify something that you love to do? Something that you are passionate about? Something that makes your life somewhat complete? Something that you respect but other people look down upon because of what society has made it out to be? Is it necessary to justify it when others don't understand why you feel so much for it? When they don't understand why you put your heart and soul into it? When they question whether its worth all this effort? When they tell you you're wasting your time? Wasting your money? Do you really need to explain it to them when they have completely nothing to do with when, where, how or why you do it? Is it necessary to justify it at all when someone puts you down just because they know nothing about it? Do you need to explain yourself to them of why you love it so much?
Maybe. But I can't be bothered anymore. Think what you like. I love what I do. And that's all that matters.
