I walk into the store room to find activities for the children next week. Emma follows me into the store room.
"Do you 'ave this at 'ome?" she asks me.
"Which one? This one? No, I don't have this one at home. Do you?"
"Yes, I 'ave this one. I 'ave this one too!" She points at the colour card matching game. I know she doesn't have either of them but I play along.
"Do you? Wow! You must have a lot of games to play with at home." I say, while rummaging through the pile of puzzles.
"Yeah, I have a... f-ing home..." F-ing home?! Surely she didn't mean the short version of the f word?! I immediately look at her and ask her to repeat what she just said. "You have what?"
"I have f-ing at home... f-ing at home... all this, yeah..."
"Oh, you have EVERYTHING at home!"
"Yeah."
hahaha... I know what you're thinking. How could I think she said the F word? But don't be fooled by children's innocence. You'd be surprised at what some children are learning from adults nowadays! My last kinder job had boys who knew the F word all too well! >.<
