Sorry, it has been a while since I last blogged.
I start my new job next monday... so thats a bit exciting! :) but i have to say that I'm more nervous than excited. lots of mountains i need to climb to do well in this job. and they're not little mountains, i can assure you. but if i do make it to the top and not come tumbling back down, i'll be proud of myself.
last weekend was full of socializing. on saturday i went with mel to the city to check out the YAA expo. lots of different creative ideas. it was really interesting. i love looking at the new and original ideas people have. kinda why i love going to markets as well. they always have fascinating creations to look at. so anyways, mel and i had lunch first, shopped a bit and then met up with rani at around 3pm to walk to the expo. along the way we bumped into steph, who was also going to the expo. it was held at the melbourne exhibition center. it wasn't a HUGE expo as i expected it to be but big enough. their products ranged from cute, simple but effective magnets, to wrist bands, to wonder bras, to scarves with pockets, to pot plants that grow messages, to reversible bags... etc. we spent a good hour or two there before mel, rani and i headed back home. the whole point of mel and i meeting up that day was so that we could go watch a movie 'evening'. so we went back to her place, had dinner, had singing lessons :) and then off we went to glenny. however, when we got there, we didn't really feel like going to watch a movie and ended up having vanilla chai lattes at coco lounge... hehe.
on sunday, we had yumcha with more of the glennies. went to new royal garden, where we got in trouble for booking for 12 people and having only 7 turn up at the start >.< i wasn't particularly impressed by the yumcha there. the service was slow, the food was only so so but i guess the company made up for it. i love our glenny group. i love how we can arrange a get together at the last minute and just catch up with everyone who can make it (which is usually a good turn out). so anyways, sunday was also jez and steph's birthday and while steph couldn't grace us with her presence, jez did. so to celebrate, we went to airstream for drinks (jez loves airstream :D hehe). didn't stay there for long. the boys went to watch the simpsons movie and the girls went home.
i have recently been inspired again to make cupcakes. My mum discovered a new bakery/factory near our place that only make cupcakes. before going to the factory, i had only ever seen well decorated cupcakes from photos and pictures online (with the exception of one in sydney). so you can imagine my excitement when i could actually pick them up and look at them closely. i haven't had the time to bake cupcakes until today. i woke up at 8:30am just to bake cupcakes. i thought it would be a good way to start the day. but i was wrong. i was so tired in the morning and had a slight headache. so that didn't put me in the mood to decorate. it takes a lot of effort to decorate, especially when you don't have the correct equipment/materials. but surprisingly, my sloppy job of decorating my cupcakes didn't turn out too badly!
Well, you can judge for yourselves:
