It's been a while... and so much has happened.

My new teaching job has been an interesting journey so far. I've had both my ups and downs already. But one thing always remains the same and thats the love for my students. Although they sometimes cause me grief, I love teaching every single one of them.

I attended their school disco which was LOTS of fun! All the girls were happy to dance with me... but it was a different story for the boys... hehe. I eventually got some of them to dance with me!
At the grade 5 & 6 disco, and my brother had to pick me up for a family dinner. I was having so much fun that I lost track of time and forgot to check my phone to see if my brother had called. Luckily, around 7:30ish (which was when my brother was spose to pick my up) they turned on the lights to play a game. And at that point, I was signalled by the principal that my brother was here. But apparently before that happened, my brother had come inside to look for me. He asked the teachers whether the 'music teacher' was inside and one of the students helped him to look for me. It was pretty dark and they couldn't see me anywhere. So he asked the principal, who is very tall, if he had seen me. And he goes "Well, unfortunately you can't really differentiate between her and the students... you could easily mistake her for one!"Great. >.<

The support from the staff has been fantastic. I feel so loved. I had my interview for the position next year and I was feeling extremely stressed about it. So stressed that I was brought to tears yesterday. Somehow word got around (and I have no idea how... even some of the students knew about it!!!) and I had 5 staff members come to my music room this morning for 1) to check up on me... 2) give me advice for the interview and 3) to tell me what a great job I'm doing. awwww... did I mention I feel so loved?! :D
