its really really nice to talk to someone/people who:

- actually listen to you and not pretend to
- respond to what you're saying which shows they're actually listening
- don't occupy themselves with something else while talking/listening to you
- actually want to help with your issue/problem that you may have
- are honest but know how to word it so the truth doesn't hurt... much
- don't always relate your situation back to them so they start talking about themselves
- are genuinely concerned
- make a serious matter 'light' by joking around
- make you feel good about yourself

thank you to those people who helped me today. some may read this. others may not. but thank you anyway.
